PRIORITY PLACEMENT (WHY?)
Progress from Bromsgrove School Mission Hills to Bromsgrove School UK seamlessly and ultimately to the World's Top Universities.
Value of “Priority Placement” – Top 11 Reasons
-
Exclusive privilege to BMH students - Secure placement in advance: (Bromsgrove UK is one of a handful of schools in the UK offering both IB and A levels. Amongst co-ed independent schools in UK, it ranks Top 4 for IB and Top 18 for A levels). From P4 upwards, BMH students can secure valuable places at Bromsgrove UK Senior School in advance, entering in Year 9 in UK (for 3 years of GCSE courses + 2 years of A Level/IB courses). With such a solid foundation and time to adjust to the UK education system and boarding life, students have a very high probability of entering Russell Group and top universities (more than 70% of BSUK graduates gained places at Russell Group universities).

"Breadthellence" – Phenomenal enrichment opportunities: At Bromsgrove UK, the enriching holistic opportunities are phenomenal. From the A to Z of co-curricular activities, to nationally recognised sports, and a creative arts scene delivered with passion in a large, happy community of committed young people, all Bromsgrovians lead a stimulating school life which shapes individuals forever. Bromsgrove UK has consistently ranked top 6 in sports and also has a longstanding history of successful school leavers going on to read Music, or Music Performance, at institutions such as Oxford, Cambridge, Durham, Manchester, Liverpool, as well as the Royal Academy of Music and Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.

Language acquisition and teaching experience: Having the extra time in an immersive English environment under Western pedagogies and experiences will give students the linguistic and academic foundations and edge to be successful in A levels or IB. For international boarders, a dedicated team of EAL teachers support students throughout the school day, lunchtimes and Saturdays, to intensively and systematically elevate their English levels for academic success.
For international students, especially those raised in China, having the extra time and the immersive English environment will prepare students well and give them the social and academic edge for a successful and enriching university life. Furthermore, with over 500 years of history, the staggering breadth and first division academic performance is simply unmatched by any schools in Shenzhen preparing students for overseas studies. -
Pastoral care excellence: Pastoral care is at the heart of Bromsgrove’s inclusive, caring and thriving culture. From Houseparents, residential staff, boarding tutors, housemothers to tutors, teachers, counsellors, health centre, senior teachers to Headmaster, every adult is deeply invested in the pastoral well-being of students and passionate in their vocation. When you visit the campus, you will feel immediately welcomed by the inclusive ethos of Bromsgrove UK. You will feel the warmth, happiness, friendliness, well-mannered etiquette, humility and confidence of every student as well as the ethos of excellence.
Furthermore, many UK boarding schools have “exeat weekends” (about every third week, all students, including international students, need to be off campus, in order to provide all faculty a short break). However, at Bromsgrove, there is NO “exeat weekends” as they understand the challenges, risk and inconvenience this would pose, especially to international boarders. Furthermore, over half term breaks (about 9 days long), Bromsgrove offers an optional “Guardian Angels” programme in which boarders can stay on campus and be looked after over half-term.
At Bromsgrove, students need to find off-campus arrangements only for Christmas holidays and Summer Holidays. Hence, Bromsgrove provides a far more inclusive boarding provision than most other UK boarding schools. This commitment to wrap around boarding provision was exemplified during Covid, when Bromsgrove UK stepped up and immediately offered international boarders the option to stay on campus and be looked after, even over Christmas and Summer Holidays, which was highly appreciated by international parents, as they did not have to worry about securing a flight home for their child or time wasted in quarantine.

Global mindset and cultural assimilation: At Bromsgrove School UK, not only are students from the UK, but there are students from over 55 countries. For Chinese students, the opportunity to study overseas in a culturally diverse, yet warm, inclusive and family-orientated school like Bromsgrove sets them up with a truly global mindset and a superior appreciation of other cultures: growing up with an inclusive yet culturally diverse peer group really helps Chinese students to understand, appreciate and integrate into the local culture, whilst developing a global mindset. Friendships formed between Bromsgrovians tend to span the globe and last a lifetime.
In contrast, we have noticed that oftentimes, Chinese students who go overseas only at university level, will tend to befriend mainly other Chinese students and not fully develop the cultural flexibility and adaptability important for their future careers. -
Unparalleled campus: Spread across 100 acres (over 600 mu), Bromsgrove School UK’s facilities are unparalleled and astounding. With extensive professional facilities for indoor and outdoor sports; with 25m indoor swimming pool; with state-of-the-art music, arts, drama, dance, design and technology studios and performance halls; with award winning catering and dining facilities; with 13 high quality houses; with an historic chapel and buildings dating back to 1600s-1800s, community networks and much more…. the opportunities for students’ development and enrichment are limitless.

- Alumni network: Tapping into generations of close-knit alumni network from UK and around the world is invaluable.
- Plan ahead and be prepared to study abroad: After securing their priority place, students can better plan their two-year study and life at BMH, targeting their preparation for readiness to make the most of their time at BSUK Senior School. On the one hand, through the boarding life at BMH, students can experience British boarding life in advance, and develop self-care, self-discipline and social skills so that they would hit the ground running once in UK; on the other hand, through BMH's targeted courses, students can improve their comprehensive English ability and strengthen their subject learning as well as their holistic development, fully supported by BMH teachers and parents in liaison with Bromsgrove School.
- Quality assurance and savings on agency fees: Oftentimes, parents engage agencies to understand the bewildering landscape of overseas schools and universities and to support with applications. Finding the right boarding school or university and gaining successful placement is oftentimes expensive, time consuming and stressful, without guarantees. Our exclusive priority placement programme not only is helpful in terms of savings on agencies fees for UK boarding schools and for university placements, more importantly, priority placement provides the highest quality assurance to one of the top UK boarding schools and from there a secure and strong path to premier universities.

Best Value
If a fair financial comparison is made between Bromsgrove School UK and internationalised boarding schools in Shenzhen and China, and we compare tuition plus the weekly boarding option (as most Chinese Boarding schools do not provide weekend boarding), Bromsgrove School UK’s weekly boarding fee is relatively better value, with an average saving of over RMB 110,000 per year in Senior School (Admissions have details). What is more, Bromsgrove School provides a far better academic and holistic education for all the reasons listed above.Small selection of School Life videos (for more videos, click here)
