THE BROMSGROVE VISIT
There is an old Chinese saying, "How happy we are to have friends from afar." In February, we welcomed our dearest friends from Bromsgrove School UK!
Mr Michael Punt, Headmaster of Bromsgrove School UK, and Ms Rachel Scannell, Assistant Head of Bromsgrove School UK, started preparing for their Bromsgrove School Mission Hill visit as soon as the epidemic had improved. They arrived in Shenzhen just two weeks after BMH began the new school term to visit all of the BMH community.
During their visit to the BMH Preschool, the Heads joined the children in their daily morning activities and exercises.
At the K3 assembly, Bromsgrove School UK Headmaster, Michael Punt, was invited to present the awards to the children, where he shook hands and presented them with their certificates.
The children in the Preschool were eagerly awaiting the visit of the Heads and had made a video ready to welcome them. We played this special gift and invited the Heads to share the video with the children at Bromsgrove School UK, prepared to establish future communication and learning connections.
The Preschool children also presented Mr Punt and Ms Scannell with calendars made from their beautiful drawings. Headmaster Mr Punt told the children he couldn't wait to take the calendar back to the UK, hang it somewhere where he could see it daily, and think of all the lovely children at Bromsgrove School Mission Hills.
During their visit to the Prep & Senior Schools, our visitors observed a variety of lessons from each year group and thoroughly enjoyed what they saw.
The Prep 1 students taught the Heads how to say 'Hello' and 'Thank you' in Chinese; in Maths, the Prep 3 students demonstrated how to divide large numbers, and in English, the Prep 5 students told the Heads in fluent English what they were studying during their current writing unit.
The multi-talented BMH students presented paintings and Chinese calligraphy to the Heads as gifts - a beautiful dolphin leaping up and the word "Friendship" in calligraphy as a devotion to the close relationship between Bromsgrove School Mission Hills and Bromsgrove School UK.
After school, the visit continued with the BMH faculty and parent meetings. Mr Punt and Ms Scannell shared lots of very exciting news!
Priority Placement, Annual BMH Student Ambassadors being able to study at Bromsgrove School UK for a term (without any additional charge), Summer Schools, Writing Competitions & Baking Competitions and much more... something for all of our community to engage in!
Since the cooperation with Bromsgrove School in 2016, based on a shared philosophy of schooling, Bromsgrove School UK has worked very closely with us in all aspects of Academic, Pastoral, Holistic, Boarding, and Human Resources.
We continue to work with this 500-year-old 'Breadthellence' school to bring more quality, exceptional and creative opportunities to children at BMH.
We'll be running our exciting events soon, so please stay tuned for more news!
