School Description:

Bromsgrove School Mission Hills is planned as a co-educational, bilingual (English and Mandarin) through-train day school for students in Kindergarten to University entrance. Our partnership with Bromsgrove School, UK, brings the depth and breadth of expertise and knowledge a historically successful school affords, elevated with the passion and pioneering spirit of a newly established school. Our goal is to serve a growing number of Chinese nationals and expatriates in the Shenzhen region who have an interest in having their children attend a pre-eminent dual language internationally accredited school.

Our pupils follow a blended bilingual programme with English first language teachers and Chinese bi-lingual teachers in every class in the Pre-School (KG 1, 2 and 3) and the Prep-Junior School (Prep 1, Prep 2 and Prep 3). Following the successful model of excellence of our partner school, Bromsgrove School UK, from Prep 4 onwards pupils are taught by subject specialists following our blended curriculum. Chinese, Mathematics and Morality are taught using Chinese language. Humanities, Music and Musical Theatre use a blend of English and Chinese. Science, Computer Science, Design Technology, Art and PE are taught in English. As we progress to IGCSE and A' levels the pupils increasingly study in English in order to ensure they are well prepared for IGCSE examinations where the language used is English. Nevertheless, we still keep their Chinese language skills strong.

Situated in the world class Mission Hills Golf Resort of Mission Hills we have unparalleled sports partnerships which means as well as pursuing traditional sports such as athletics, badminton, basketball, cricket, football, netball, swimming, table tennis, tennis, volleyball, etc. we have partnerships with specialist world class providers in Golf, Tennis, Football and Ice Skating which enable us to provide elite level programmes in these sports.

Our campus is located on the property owned by Mission Hills and immediately adjacent to the Mission Hills resort in Shenzhen, China. By car, it is only 30 minutes from Shenzhen City Centre and Hong Kong Island just 2 hours from our door.

Position Overview:

Early Childhood experts with a profound belief in the competence and creativity of young children may apply. Our Pre School facilitates play and inquiry based learning in a bilingual context with strong elements of Reggio Emilia being woven through our pedagogy. Team work, energy and experience, as well as ELL experience, will support the strongest applications.

Job Description:

An exciting role as an English Language Learning Coach, building teacher confidence and competence and impacting student outcomes through bespoke coaching models for our context. Working alongside our talented Homeroom and English Teachers. Abundant Classroom and ELL teaching experience as well as coaching experience are required and knowledge of bilingual settings preferred. Must be passionate, a great communicator and have an outstanding work ethic.

Qualification:

  • University degree (BA/B.Sc) or equivalent
  • Teacher Qualifications (B.Ed/M.Ed/PGCE/QTS) or equivalent
  • Have at least 2-year teaching experiences with international school or foreign language kindergarten and/or Early Childhood setting with EAL needs
  • Native English speaker
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles and practices of early childhood frameworks such as the Canadian educational system, IB PYP, EYFS, Reggio Emilia (preferred)
  • A positive, caring, collaborative team-player with a passion for early childhood education (required)
